My work for the Exhibition, Hand Luggage, is titled Skeletal Luggage.
The work is simply my reaction to the Exhibition title - a literal
translation combined with a fondness for skeletal shapes.
The
central concepts of my work are often centered around the body for example,
surgery, the advertised perfect body Vs the imperfect and surreal explorations
into the role of prosthetic limbs etc.
In
the last ten years, laminated plywood has been the basic building material
for my sculptures. Recently however, I have focused my attention on
learning to carve real wood (teak and rosewood).
