Pangu - Creation Myths 1997-98

A sense of anticipation and misgivings were evident in Hong Kong and world wide accompanying the handover of Hong Kong by Britain on July 26th 1997.

This work was made in response to the 'historic' event, my subsequent visit to Hong Kong and the New Territories and my response to the creation myth of Pangu, the symbolism and connotative power of the egg in chinese mythology, the pigtail and the ubiquitous (made in China) cardboard manufactured box.
