Image shows a grid of twelve small aspects of the installation work
Longue duree a collaborative installation.1996.
H block Gallery Queensland University of Technology.
Anna Burch,Carole Driver, Ross Barber.

This installation has resulted from a collaborative approach to the architectural and social dimensions of this space. Relationships and intersections have emerged through the process of working together in the space over two weeks.
The space has been opened up by the installations elements and draws attention to both internal and external dimensions. The fugitive aspects created, reflect an interest in incorporating temporal dimensions in the installation.
The passage of light through the day is a key element of the work, creating a play of light and shadow. The artificial light at night further transforms the space and the relationships of colour, light reflections and shadow. Text by Anna Burch edited by Ross Barber.
Please note.
The installation was originally titled Londurea, a misspelling by me of the term longue dure'e coined by Annales historian Fernand Braudel.
