Vessels for a Journey.
These
are actual, and metaphorical vessels for metaphorical journeys.
They are also the result of journeys.
One boat contains a boat which holds a metaphor which is for me very
powerful, the snake on the cross.
Metaphors also are vessels (that you unpack in your mind as you wish)
The chrysalis, to me, symbolises processes of becoming, personal
journeys we undertake, sometimes unconsciously or even involuntarily.
The third vessel, being empty, could potentially contain anything
we choose to place into it, anything we need to bring along.
The
work may be read as the story of my journeys maybe physical, definitely
spiritual, or mental, from the KNOWN TO ME, A MEDIEVAL SORT OF ORTHDOXY,
VIA DOUBT,(BUT ALSO A COMPLICATED BEAUTY: THE SNAKE AND ALL ANYONE MIGHT
READ INTO IT) TO A MORE OPEN SITUATION WITH INDEFINABLE POTENTIAL, -
(REPRESENRED BY THE EMPTY BOAT.- FINALLY THE EMPTY BOX, CONNECTING ALL
IS THE RED - CLOTH AND COLOUR - LIFE CONNECTING AND CONTAINING ANY CONTRADICTIONS.
